Green Designation Course: Coupon Available
At the AE Institute in March the Green REsource Council and REALTOR® University announced the launch of NAR's Green Designation Core Course online and promoted the core course at $295. Actual pricing is $325. To address the discrepancy REALTOR® University is offering coupons to offset the difference between the advertised and the actual price for AEs interested in taking the core course. The coupons are good until Jan. 1, 2010. To obtain a coupon code, e-mail greendesignation@realtors.org and in the subject line write "AE coupon code for core course online." Be sure to provide your first and last name. Sales Associate Can Claim Deduction
A sales associate can take a federal tax deduction for passive activity losses incurred on rental property the associate owned, the U.S. Tax Court ruled, overruling an IRS decision. The IRS said only licensed brokers qualify to take the deduction, but the Court said the IRS was defining "brokerage trade or business" too narrowly. |
